The Shades

These nine intermixable shades come in Yellow, Orange, Red, Maroon, Magenta, Rose, Violet, Blue and Green. The two shade shifters to either deepen or pastelize your color come in Clear or Dark.

How to Use Color Chameleon

Although best utilized on pre-lightened level 10 color or higher, Color Chameleon may also be applied to levels 6 and above with varying results.

To pre-lighten, we suggest using Power Blonde for maximum lift, Cream Blonde for highlights, Magic Blonde for full-head applications, or Freedom Blonde for free-hand balayage placement.

Once hair is lifted to the desired level, let your creativity flow! From creating subtle blends to rainbow brights and pops of color, Color Chameleon will bring your vision to life.

Get the Look

Multicolor Rainbow

If your client is looking to rock a daring design, this rainbow effect will manifest their most vibrant hair color dreams. Using a range of five colors – this one is for the visionary.

The Steps:

Step 1: Start by creating the canvas needed to support the desired end result. Hair must be clean and dry before you apply the product.

Step 2: Decide on the colors you want to use to create the end result. On the roots, we worked with pure Magenta. We then faded to Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue. All colors were diluted using Clear – 1:5 mixing ratio. For a more cotton candy version, use a minimum mixing ratio of 1:10.

Step 3: Work in even horizontal sections, using a color fade technique for a seamless blend of the colors.

Step 4: Process for 20 minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Do not shampoo the hair. Style hair as desired.

Orange Highlights

Due to the placement and symmetry of this style, we love this look for clients with naturally textured hair.

The Steps:

Step 1: Start by creating the canvas needed to support the desired end result. Hair must be clean and dry before you apply the product.

Step 2: Decide on your base color, then pair 2-3 colors to go with the base color. For a softer look, choose analogous colors like Yellow, Yellow-Orange and Orange, or choose one color to use in combination with the shade shifters, Clear or Dark. For a bold look, use a contrasting color scheme (three equally distant colors on the color wheel). As our base color, we used Orange diluted with Clear – mixing ratio 1:5.
For the highlights, we used Orange, Rose, Yellow and Magenta diluted with Clear – mixing ratio 1:20.

Step 3: For the application technique, we used halo sectioning, working with normal-sized slices, leaving 2-3 cm between the highlights so the base color could shine through.

Step 4: Process for 20 minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Do not shampoo the hair. Style hair as desired.

Blue-Green Fade

While you can utilize any of the new Color Chameleon shades to craft a vibrant color melt, we are in love with this blue to green ombre combination. Pair this fade with a bob or a lob for a sophisticated structured finish.

The Steps:

Step 1: Start by creating the canvas needed to support the desired end result. Hair must be clean and dry before you apply the product.

Step 2: Choose two shades (or mixtures) that you want to use for the look. This technique works well with two colors that complement each other. For this look, we used Blue and Green. On the roots, we applied pure Dark. On the mid lengths, we used Blue and Green at a ratio of 2:1. For the ends we used Green diluted with Clear – 1:1 mixing ratio.

Step 3: Blend the colors at the overlap points using a fade technique. As a result, this will create a soft, subtle transition.

Step 4: Process for 20 minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Do not shampoo hair. Style hair as desired.

Lilac Balayage

If your client is looking for a touch of color, this Lilac creation is the perfect solution. Our look works well with balayage placement, but this color shift is stunning on all over tones as well.

The Steps:

Step 1: Start by lightening the hair with a classic balayage technique. For a more intense effect, a foilayage technique may be used. Hair must be clean and dry before you begin painting.

Step 2: Select your desired shade or shade mixture. To create this lilac hue, we used Violet diluted with Clear – mixing ratio 1:5. Any pastel color will work well for this technique.

Step 3: To achieve a subtle effect, apply your formula to the lightened areas only. Then, for a more dramatic effect, apply your formula to the entire head.

Step 4: Process for 20 minutes. Then, rinse with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Do not shampoo the hair. Style hair as desired.
