BOMBSHELL BLOWOUT

Blow drying is an essential foundational technique to master behind the chair. The trick? Don’t be afraid to use product! To get a simply stellar bombshell blowout, prep mohawk sections with STYLE Soft Mousse, then use a round brush to blow-dry, over-directing forward and rolling back to achieve optimal height. After perfecting the top section, move to the sides, rolling each section and placing pin clips in an on-base position. Once cool, use a finishing brush to comb out the curls and finish with STYLE Spray Wax. In addition, create an individual style with a unique parting or add an accessory!

TOUSLED TEXTURE

Texture has been one of the top trends gracing the runways season after season, and it’s not going anywhere this year. The great thing about this look is that you can customize it by working with your client’s natural texture. To get the look, apply STYLE Soft Mousse, to towel-dried strands and begin blow-drying. For clients with a tighter wave/curl pattern, use a diffuser to allow their natural texture to shine. For clients with straight hair, use a cushion brush to add volume at the base and a bit of bend throughout the ends. Once dry, use a medium-sized curling iron to add a slight wave to the hair. Leaving the ends out for a more organic feel. Then, spritz with STYLE Dry Texturizer and run your fingers through to break up the waves and add more movement. 

SLICKED-BACK SHINE

We’ve seen sleek and chic all over the Red Carpet this season (hello, Reese Witherspoon). A slicked-back look can be created on long layers or short bobs for a quick and easy elegant finish. The key to this look is using a product that holds the style in place while creating endless shine sans flakes. To get a similar style, start with a polished blowout and create a side part for extra drama. Section out the top and work with the sides first. Using a combination of a comb and a cushion brush to position the hair. STYLE Spray Wax is the key to recreating this look. Mist it on each section as you directionally comb/brush it into place. Once the sides are secure, work STYLE Brilliantine Gel into the top section and comb to the side or straight back for a perfect finish! *Pro-tip: if you need extra hold, use bobby pins or secure the side sections at the nape with a clear elastic for a look that will stay in place all night long.
